I love the idea, and would pay for it (I did just buy one I thought was doing the same thing but was useless as it was only a viewer) but I really want it to connect remotely, so I can run my PC from another room rather than have to get up to accept the connection. I have a secure WiFi so who else can be accessing my PC? Why can't there be a Password option that is remembered if security needs to be higher??

why do you have to accept all the time. it defeats the purpose of having this. why would you use it if u had to be there to accept. wouldn't you just use the computer if you were there. at least make it so there is an option. i agree with kenton by the way with the password.

this is a good app/program combination. the only 3 things i would like to see is an option of inverted scrolling on the touch pad (like you're scrolling a mobile safari page), a zoom in/out option for touch pad, and a lesser security option, so if you leave your ipod/iphone in sleep for 10mins or so, you won't need to hit allow on ur pc. otherwise, a very cool, handy app. keep the updates coming!

i must agree with the other reviews. the app is quite cool but it would be great if the "allow and remember"-button would really work. if you recieve calls or sms or leave your iphone in sleep for a couple of mins you have to get back to your pc/notebook to allow again. i would highly appreciate if this problem could be fixed soon. but thx4a useful app guys...

Authorization feature is introduced in iRemote Suite 1.1. This update is still in review. Remote PC Suite goes ahead of events. Be patient, you will be able to update your iPhone client very soon.

this is one of the best apps i have ever used. i am acually typing this from my itouch with this program. this is so cool because i can use my computer in my bed at night. some suggestions are to be able to zoom out so yo can see the whole computer desktop. alsobe able to click right on the screen without pressing the mouse button. and did the 1.1 version come out yet because i cant save my device to the computer and i have to allow it each time. this is so cool

You will be notified, when new iRemote Suite appears, on your iPhone/iTouch. Due to huge amount of updates, reviewing process at AppStore takes a little bit longer.

The "Allow & Remember" button works now!!
The desktop software has apparently been up-to-date for a while now, it was the iPhone/iPod application software that needed to be updated. Update your iPhone/iPod application to version 1.1 to take full advantage of this great software!!
Simply enter a password and you will be able to access your computer anytime you wish.
Thanks for the fix, Egor!! :) Great free software!! :)

Hello,

Great Application!!!

I need some information I couldn't find on the website. I have a home WIFI network and my IP (from router is 192.168....), it works great from my house but I wonder, how can I connect via 3G. should I enter my ISP IP from iPhone when I try to connect?
I'm sure that if I'm away from my WIFI network the 192.168 ... IP won't work.

Thanks,
Eugen

I really like this product. Thank you! I am so techno stupid though that I can't figgure out how to connect when away from home. It works really well when I'm at my own house trying to control my pc through my phone, but when I leave and go somewhere else, I can't connect. I get a red err type message. Any thoughts? Must I configgure something to make it work properly?

(GUIDE TO ACCESS YOUR PC AWAY FROM YOUR LOCAL WIRELESS NETWORK)

Hello Drake,

I had the same issue and managed to solve it nicely.

When you're away from you wireless network, the first thing you need to do is change the IP address to your ISP IP address (not 192.0. ... , that's your local IP given by your router).

1. To find out your IP address just go to "http://www.ip-adress.com/"
2. Now, you need to PORT forward the port used by Egor's APP on your router. (8444)

To do this, you need to access your router settings and find where you can add this port "8444" (used by iRemote).

I have a Linksys Router, and found this option under "Application/Gaming" port forwarding somewhere in there.
I'm sure your wireless modem router documentation will help you figure out where you can make this. (or Google, faster, hehe)

Basically, I completed 3 fields (Name of Application "iRemote" or whatever, select TCP, and port number "8444").

This makes your router allow the connection through your PC using the port "8444".

3. After you've done all of the above, go to your iRemote Desktop (installed on your Windows XP) and make the following change:

Go to "Known Devices" -> Your iPhone name should be in the list (if you choose "remember me" -> double click on it -> UNCHECK "Associate with IP address" -> APPLY.
*this basically allows you to connect to you PC from a different IP address than the local one used so far (given by your wireless router), for example, the IP address when using 3G. (which is different than the one from your local wireless network).

You're DONE! Have fun!

Egor, you're the best! I just love this application!

You guys are legends for putting this application up. agree with others that zoom and scroll would be a nice touch to what is an amazing product, thank you so much for your hard work and effort. i would give this 4.94 out of 5. just the zoom and scroll would make it the most perfect application ever.

Great application, I almost gave up on an Iphone app like this as others did not fit the bill.

The one this I would ask is the ability to create custom buttons that do custom keyclicks that can be made from the PC. Other than that awesome product keep up the great work.

Hi! Just in case anyone else encounters the same problem I had, which had a window popping out when installing the new version 1.3 desktop version:

Error opening file for writing:
C:\ Program files\ Remote PC suite\ QtGui4.dll

What you need to do is to:

1) right click on ur Remote PC suite icon then click open file location.
2) Double click uninstall.
3) Get back to the parent folder (Go back to C:\ Program files)
4) Click Remote PC suite and DELETE the whole folder
5) Now you can install the latest version easily.
6) Enjoy!

Daniel,
I found the solution for the Mac version, at least for now.
Apparently the application is installed with an unknown owner in its permissions.
I changed that and now it works fine.

Download BatChmod here: http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/6440/batchmod
Select RemotePC in BatChMod and set owner to your user name and select R and W.
Set Group to admin and select R.
Select R for Everyone.
That's it.
Now open the information window for RemotePC in the Finder and check the settings at the end of the window (owner:read&write, admin:read, everyone:read)

Hello. I LOVE this app. To make the app remember the password, all you have to do is while you're connected, click your iPod name ONCE. Then click the picture of 3 people. When a box appears, click your iPod name again ONCE and then click the icon of a person with a slash next to his head (or what ever that thing is) DO NOT CLICK THE ONE WITH THE X, CLICK THE ON ABOVE IT. There it says Enter a new password (or leave the box blank if you already have one.) Enter a password anyways. Click apply. Now, it should always remember your iPod and all you have to do is type in the password on your iPod each time you connect. (By the way, you should have done this whole thing on the computer, not your iPod.) Also, the people who made this, could you please add sound transmission?
If anyone has trouble with this, please feel free to reply and tell me.

Sorry, but doesn't seem to work on my system.
1. Switched off firewall (I know it's not the best idea, but...).
2. Started Desktop application.
3. Started iPhone app.
4. Entered desktop IP-number into iPhone app.
5. Verified Port numbers.
6. Pressed button on iPhone to establish connection.
--> nothing happens. Only the "being-busy" circle circles.

Both software parts were downloaded yesterday.
My system: PowerBook G4 Titanium, 400MHz, Mac OSX 10.4.11.

Hello, this is a really powerful software, I like it very much, but it still have some problems. First, I suggest increasing its FPS so it can run faster, every time I move the mouse through my iPod, it's not very easy and smooth. Another problem is: when the pc is running screensaver, I tried to use it, every time, the pc dies, I don't know why. My OS is 7. Please improve the software and make it better!
